If you installed the SerialDMA extension (which was included with the System 7.5.2 Printing Update 1.1) on your Power Macintosh computer and you also have Apple Remote Access installed on that computer, the computer may crash at startup unless you disable all extensions at startup by pressing and holding the Shift key.

Apple is aware of a conflict that occurs on Power Macintosh 7200, 7500, 8500, and 9500 computers between the Serial Port Arbitrator and the SerialDMA extension.

To avoid this conflict, Serial Port Arbitrator should be removed from the Extensions folder which is inside the System Folder. The Extensions Manager control panel cannot be used to disable the Serial Port Arbitrator. The Famous Apple!
