Name: Geoport and Express Modem 3.0 Updater

Description: This software updates Apple Telecom 2.x to 3.0.

Important: The GeoPort & Express Modem Updater is for the United States and Canada only. Due to the country specific telecommunications regulations it is not supported outside of these regions.

What this update provides

For Power Macintosh users with GeoPort Telecom Adapter

This update provides support for V.34 protocols, which allow data transfer at speeds up to 28.8 Kbps.

For Express Modem users

This update provides software improvements, but does not provide any speed increase to the Express Modem. For System 7.5.5 users, it is recommended that you install this update.

For Centris/Quadra 660AV/840AV users with GeoPort Telecom Adapter

This update provides software improvements, but does not provide any speed increase to the GeoPort Telecom Adapter.

Description: LaserWriter 8.4.1 updates LaserWiter 8.4 LaserWriter 8.4.1 provides new user interfaces that is simpler and easier to use. It also provides single-pass printing for foreground print jobs, more background printing options, and more layout options.

What is New in Version 8.4.1

LaserWriter 8.4.1 provides improved functions and application compatibility.

In LaserWriter 8.4 Get Printer Info or Change Setup can not be used when Connectix' Speed Doubler is also in the Extensions folder. LaserWriter 8.4.1 corrects this conflict with Speed Doubler.

Desktop printer icons display the icon of the printer selected, unless the PostScript Printer Description file for the printer selected is not installed in your Printer Descriptions folder. In this case, the desktop printer icon displays the icon for LaserWriter 8.
