You may be tempted to install the AppleVision software on your computer in order to get a version of the Control Strip which allows you to take advantage of the Monitor BitDepth and Monitor Resolution Control Strip modules included with the AppleVision software. While it is possible to install the AppleVision software on any Macintosh computer, this configuration is not supported and will not be fully functional.

Even if you do not have an AppleVision Monitor, the AppleVision software and Control Strip functions may work on your computer initially. However, when you restart the computer, it will probably freeze when the "Display Enabler" extension appears on the screen.

The AppleVision software is only intended for use with Macintosh and Power Macintosh computers that have an AppleVision or AudioVision Display connected. Even though it may work initially or intermittently, the AppleVision software checks for display type through the ADB bus and therefore is not supported on Macintosh and Power Macintosh computers using other display models. If you do not have an AppleVision or AudioVision display, you should remove this software from your System Folder. The Famous Apple!
