The Scrapbook, located in the Apple Menu, has a maximum limit of 255 items. The Scrapbook stores items as resources in the resource fork. All Macintosh resource files have a maximum limit of 2727 resources, however the Scrapbook was designed to hold a maximum of 255 resources. In addition to only being able to store 255 resources, there is a maximum size limit of the combined resources. The total combined resources of the Scrapbook cannot exceed 16 MB. This limit of 16 MB on the resource fork of a file is a Macintosh Hierarchical File System standard, so it applies to all files, not just the Scrapbook.
