Instead of selection Eject Disk from the menu you can press Command-E. BUt even this method still leaves the ghosted disk icon on the screen. It's better to aboid this situation by using one of the following alternatives: Drag the disk icon straight into the Trash. The disk pops out of the drive, and its icon disappears. Under System 7, select the disk icon. Use the File menu's Put Away command or, better yet, Command-Y keyboard shortcut. This command accomplishes the same thing as dragging the disk to the Trash. The disk ejects and the icon disappears.
