We are running LetterRip Pro by Letterrip Software

We are running 5 lists on our listserver. Two of the lists can be subscribed to by the general public, 2 lists can be subscribed to by the JHU population, and one list is for the JHMI Membership only and you can only be added to that list when you become a member.

To subscribe to any of the below public lists click on the links. This should open your email program and create a message. Just send the message. No modifications are neccessary.

1. The Membership list is private moderated list for announcements or information that is just for the JHMI Membership. If you are a currently member you are automatically added to this list.
   
2. The JHMIMug-Talk list is a public non moderated list. This list will be used by JHMI Mug Members and the general public for requesting assistance or just for general Macintosh discussion. At this point, the list is un-moderated and will stay this way unless moderation becomes required due to the nature of the postings

3. The Announcement list is a public moderated list. We announce any upcoming JHMI Mug meetings, Product Demonstration, Apple Events, Special Starlight Broadcast, and any other JHMI Mug sponsored events. Anyone can sign up to receive the announcements

4. The JHU Mac Users list is a list just for users of Macintosh computers that are part of JHU/JHMI etc. This list will be used for announcents that jsut partain to JHU users with regard to Macintosh issues with enterprise programs, network, etc.

In the future, more lists on various topics may be added per requests from JHMI Mug Members or SIG Groups. If you have a request for creation of a list, just send an e-mail to mugadmin@mail.jhmi.edu with your request

Definition of some of the terms.

Moderated - a list in which anyone can subscribe themselves to, but only the list moderator can post a message.

Non-moderated - a list in which anyone can subscribe themselves to and subscribers can post messages to the list themselves.

Private List - A list in which only the moderator can subscribe people to the list.
